Eid Mubarak!
May 24, 2020
Muslims across the world observed the holy month of Ramadan from April 24 - May 23, 2020, engaging in increased giving, prayer, charity, and fasting. The end of Ramadan is marked by Eid Al-Fitr, one of the two major festive holidays in the Islamic Calendar. Due to the unprecedented COVID-19 situation, the IAFL community will celebrate Eid in their homes and will connect virtually with each other, maintaining the camaraderie and sharing the gratitude with each other.
Ramadan Mubarak!
April 24 - May 23, 2020
Muslims across the world begin observing the holy month of Ramadan on April 24, 2020. Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar and marks a period of increased giving, prayer, charity, and fasting. During Ramadan, Muslims across the world fast during the day, and spend the night in prayers and reflection. The month of Ramadan typically sees festive gatherings at IAFL where we host the wider Muslim and non-Muslim community for dinner during the breaking of fast at dusk (iftar). This year, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IAFL commnity will observe Ramadan largely from their homes while staying connected with each other with the aid of technology. IAFL wishes its community a blessed Ramadan!
