Muslims across the world this year began observing the holy month of Ramadan on April 2, 2022. Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar and marks a period of increased giving, prayer, charity, and fasting. During Ramadan, Muslims across the world fast during the day, and spend the night in prayers and reflection. The month of Ramadan typically sees festive gatherings at IAFL where we host the wider Muslim and non-Muslim community for dinner during the breaking of fast at dusk (iftar). This year, after a hiatus of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IAFL commnity will observe Ramadan at the Islamic center.

Donate to keep IAFL running
As we enter the blessed last 10 days of Ramadan, IAFL is holding its fundraiser. IAFL has been vital part of the broader interfaith community in the Finger Lakes region and has been home to the area's Muslim community. Your donations would help keep this vital organization running and will be counted as sadaqah jariya.
